June 20, 2013

Superior performance of WatchGuard’s unified threat management solution earns top-tier recognition from China Information World Magazine

SEATTLE, June 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — WatchGuard® Technologies, a global leader in manageable business security solutions, announced today that its XTM unified threat management (UTM) platform has been recognized as the “Best Next Generation Firewall” by China Information World (CIW) Magazine. WatchGuard’s XTM platform was given the award at the China Information Security Conference in Beijing in recognition of its ability to run all UTM functions without compromising network performance, which is key to effectively blocking blended threats.

To conduct the tests, judges evaluated UTM competitors in terms of throughput and performance when all of the security functions, including anti-virus, intrusion prevention and web filtering, were deployed.

“WatchGuard’s XTM solutions provide users with strong network security features while maintaining excellent throughput – a unique offering in today’s market,” said Guo Ying, general manager at China Information World Magazine.

“We are appreciative of CIW’s recognition for our performance, which mirrors the recognition we receive from our customers,” said Joe Wang, CEO of WatchGuard. “Around the world, customers continually choose our UTM solution because we have the performance horsepower to provide the protection they need, with a cost and performance equation that’s unequaled. It’s especially inspiring to receive this award in China, where we have seen more than a 50 percent revenue growth in the last 12 months because of our investment to support local partners and customers.”
