It is important for small business to keep up to date with the way that people are viewing their website. In 2014 it is estimated 50 percent of internet browsing will be done on a mobile device. This means if you do not currently have a mobile version of your business website you will want to strongly consider getting one. With these staggering numbers one needs to understand that only about 16% if the 250 global marketers surveyed are focusing on building customer engagement through a mobile strategy. Here are some tips that Chris Moreno from My Local Leads suggest:
1. Know what Google prefers for mobile optimization
When you know what Google is looking for you should be able to design and cater you mobile website to those specifications.
2. Understand that there are limitations to a mobile design
Those that are on mobile devices do not want to scroll for information. This will mean that if you have a large amount of information on a page you may need to break up that information and put it into several different pages. You will want to make sure that the information that is displayed on your mobile website is what the customer is searching for such as address and phone number of your business.
3. Understand the mobile Search Engine Optimization
This might be where you would need help from a marketing professional. You will want to make sure that you have your basic Meta tagging, proper titles, and headline tags. There may be some differences in the words that are used when searching for your business. A business should be able to use various tools on their mobile website such as Google Analytic.
These are basic tips to help a business to understand what is needed for mobile optimization. There are a number of different strategies out there for mobile optimization which should help to drive future customers to your mobile site. My Local Leads is here to help customers to understand what is needed and help customers reach the full potential for a local business with search engine optimization and local searches.
