Technology Business Research Inc.’s Software Practice Director Stuart Williams will present “A Guidebook to the Public Cloud Vendor Landscape” at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference in Houston between July 7, 2013, and July 13, 2013. The overarching theme of the Worldwide Partner Conference is the modern era of computing in big data, cloud, mobility and enterprise social, educating Microsoft’s top partners on best practices to drive joint business and allowing them to experience the latest technology innovations, share success stories and network. During his session, Williams will illustrate how partners can grow their businesses by leveraging the strength of Microsoft’s position in the public cloud market, which is expected to grow at a 21% CAGR.

“With strong growth and a run rate of over $1 billion in cloud revenues, Microsoft’s successful cloud business can become a powerful driver of partner business,” said Williams.

During this presentation Williams will deliver a go-to-market messaging framework that simplifies selling cloud solutions. This framework will delve into the two drivers of public cloud solutions purchases: achieving an outcome or building results.

In an outcome-buying scenario, vendors must deliver full business outcomes and certify the stack, meeting business and technology expectations. In this solution, the partner will process and own all the data, effectively owning the customer’s risk.

In the second scenario, building results, users are engaging with vendors that deliver tools so that customers can build customized solutions to meet their needs. Williams will elaborate on how partners can “build a better mousetrap” for clients, enabling them to maintain a sense of ownership but providing the flexibility and scale of a public cloud solution.

Williams will demonstrate to Microsoft partners how, through investing in offering solutions, customers can achieve one of these outcomes and ultimately position themselves to win a share of the $100 billion public cloud market. Williams’ session will be held on Wednesday, July 10, 2013, at 4 p.m. Registration is now open via the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2013 website.

The quantitative and qualitative data Williams will reference to help partners solidify their commitment to a Microsoft partnership comes from TBR’s 1Q13 Public Cloud Market Landscape, a benchmark report ranking the 41 largest public cloud vendors, and primary research into public cloud adoption, all available for purchase. TBR Senior Software Analyst Allan Krans will also attend the event to provide additional insight into the public cloud market opportunity.
