Serious vintage rock poster buyer, Andrew Hawley, seeks 1960's psychedelic concert posters. The 1960s San Francisco music scene produced some of the most legendary psychedelic posters of the day. According to Hawley, “Many great acts of the 1960's such as Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, and the Doors, Bob Dylan and Led Zeppelin toured the United States and Europe heavily. The concert promoters produced concert posters and handbills to advertise the upcoming shows. Globe poster company of Baltimore Maryland and Tighlman Press of Oakland, California printed many great psychedelic concert posters. However, many psychedelic concert posters were printed locally.”
Hawley continues, "The San Francisco 1960s music scene produced legendary psychedelic posters. Boston Tea Party in Boston, Massachusetts and the Eagles Auditorium in Seattle, Washington were also centers of psychedelic poster art. The Doors’ first gig outside California took place at the Eagles Auditorium in July of 1967. A classic psychedelic concert poster was produced for this show. The Eagles Auditorium hosted many other great concerts such as the Grateful Dead, Janis Joplin with Big Brother with psychedelic posters produced for each show."
Hawley says he will pay $3,000 dollars cash for any original Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin, and other original psychedelic posters. If you happen to have one these relics, please call 310-346-1965 or email Hawley at andrew(at)vintageconcertposterbuyer(dot)com.
