With Version 6.2 of Stratum, sales reps, planners and others now have the ability to create plans and budgets in a collaborative and secure manner over the internet based on Stratum's business analytics and other information. The new planning application extends the sales and operations planning, business intelligence and performance management capabilities of Silvon's manufacturing and distribution customers and will be enhanced for use on the iPad and other mobile devices when the company releases its next product update a few months from now.

Silvon Software, Inc. has released Version 6.2 of its Stratum business intelligence software suite with added functionality for collaborative planning via the Web. More than 1,800 manufacturing and distribution businesses worldwide in the Food & Beverage, CPG, Publishing, Packaging and other industries use Stratum today for sales and operations planning, business analysis and performance management. Using the same data repository and web-based user interface that supports Silvon’s packaged business intelligence analytics, the planning functionality offered in Stratum V6.2 allows sales, operations and other business users to easily create budgets and plans and then compare them against actual sales. Plans can be seeded with historic sales results, new targets can be inputted with ease, and the results of forecasts generated by forecasting tools like the Stratum Forecasting application can be leveraged during the process. Once budgets are complete, Stratum’s web-based planning functionality lets users “explode” high-level plans to lower levels (or vice versa) based on historical proportions or user-defined percentages. In addition, automatic e-mail alerts can be issued to appropriate parties when plans haven’t been updated, performance-to-plan deviations have occurred, and more.

According to Hennel, the web-based collaborative planning capability of V6.2 will be mobile-enabled in Silvon’s V6.3 release, due out in August / September 2013. The upcoming V6.3 release will give users the flexibility to access and interact with their Stratum views of data on mobile devices like the iPad – further expanding the solution’s pervasiveness as an enterprise-wide business intelligence and performance management application.
