The Tea Production industry is focused on the large domestic market. The main enterprises in this industry have expanded their production scope, built new factories and acquired small firms to enlarge their market shares and promote their brand names throughout China. The four largest companies account for 45.0% of industry revenue in 2013, says IBISWorld. The MasterKong and Uni-President brands are industry leaders with dominant positions across many product segments. Their market shares have been increasing and their brands have been gaining popularity. However, the industry still offers opportunities for new entrants who can find the right market to sell to. Research and development (R&D) of tea beverage products is rapidly developing and new products can reach new consumer groups.

The Tea Production industry is forecast to grow steadily in the next five years. Although green tea will remain the industry's leading product, there will be a trend toward product individualization and specialization, says IBISWorld.
