Court.us.org to Help People Avoid Online Dating Scam Artists
Will protect people from both financial and emotional scam artists.
SAN DIEGO, CA (PRWEB) July 23, 2013
Court.us.org is setting up a special initiative to help protect their customers who have decided to try online dating, the company said yesterday.
“As online dating has become more and more popular, scam artists have decided to target people there,” a Court.us.org spokesman said. “We realized that we have the information at our disposal to make sure people don't become a scam victim when they are looking for love.”
Court.us.org is preparing special educational materials that people can use while dating online to make sure they don't become a scam victim, he said.
“You'd be amazed at the number of scams that are out there,” the Court.us.org spokesman said. “It can be as simple as a married man pretending to be single, or something much more sinister.”
A popular scam is to pretend to be a beautiful woman who considers a man her soulmate, the Court.us.org spokesman said. She will then ask for money in order buy a plane ticket to see him. But she never shows up, and he never hears from her again.
“Even worse are rapists who use online dating sites to find new victims,” the said. “The scam is that they hide their backgrounds, so you never know that they are a sex offender.”
Court.us.org is making the educational materials available to their existing customers on their site, he said. They will also use their social media services to help other people avoid becoming scam victims.
“We want to put a stop to online dating scam artists for good,” he said.
