Oklahoma City, Oklahoma (PRWEB) July 25, 2013
Rose State College in Oklahoma City, the only community college in the country teaching all six federal cyber security certifications, is now offering a degree completely online.
Future students will need to enroll through admissions, talk with an adviser and submit to a law enforcement background check, as do traditional cyber security students.
The new method of delivery for cyber security doesn’t change the curriculum, just allows for more students to be enrolled to meet demand, said program director Ken Dewey.
“We’re excited we can offer this option,” said Dewey. “Many students are unable to attend because of distance or because of hours they have to work. This breaks through that barrier to learning cyber security.”
Rose State College’s Cyber Security program is designed to prepare students to gain immediate employment in the cyber security field. Students who enroll in cyber security have the option of finishing their two-year degree and then seeking immediate employment, or continuing their education through cyber security advanced learning programs at Oklahoma State University, also completely online.
Program emphasis includes an understanding of wireless, biometrics, and remote access technologies along with computer forensic investigating methods.
Rose State College’s Cyber Security program has been selected as a Center of Academic Excellence by the National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

Rose State College offered its first classes on September 21, 1970. The college is located just minutes away from downtown Oklahoma City, and right off Interstate 40 and Hudiburg Drive. The campus includes 25 buildings on approximately 120 acres.
