Fresh New Proxies Enable Web Surfers to Stay Ahead of Censors

July 30, 2013

idcloak launches a Fresh New Proxies list to provide users with access to blocked sites even when content filters are blocking proxy use.

Dallas, TX (PRWEB) July 30, 2013

idcloak has launched its Fresh New Proxies list, a portal to the free web for users experiencing censorship on their internet connection. A proxy enables internet users to circumvent content filter blocks by accessing the denied content via a remotely based server.

Content filters are, however, regularly updated to block access to proxies and prevent such circumvention from occurring. Only the newest proxies can be depended on as they have yet to be applied to the filters' block-lists.

The proxies are useful to restricted users both in countrywide censorship situations, such as in China, as well as those experiencing censorship on local area networks, like at workplaces and in universities.

“We regularly source new proxies from all around the internet to cater for this dual market,” says idcloak’s Welles. “All proxies appearing on the Fresh New Proxies list are immediately and regularly validated by our automatic proxy checker to be sure they are actually functioning. The majority of new proxies have a short life expectancy, but our list makes it easy to find those working at any one time.”

The proxy list contains servers running HTTP and SOCKS protocols so the user has the option of unblocking not only websites but also services such as Skype, which is inaccessible in several countries.

The level of anonymity and speed of each proxy is tested and displayed. This and other parameters can be used in the list’s filter mechanism to bring up the most powerful servers quickly. Existing pre-filtered lists are also available on the site, such as the SOCKS5 proxy list.

idcloak.com publishes advisory articles on how users may source other unblockers such as members-only groups that publish daily lists of site-based proxies. The new article, Google Proxy Groups, explains how these discrete groups can be found and what services they provide.

The release of the Fresh New Proxies list comes just a month prior to the launch of idcloak’s flagship service, a software-based VPN service that delivers proxy rerouting with greater ease, control and reliability than free services.
