Collaboration with TÜV-Nord Brings Globally-Recognized ISO 26262 Training to the U.S.
DETROIT, Aug. 7, 2013 /PRNewswire-iReach/ — Functional safety specialist kVA, in conjunction with global safety expert TüV-Nord, announces two new sessions of their popular training and certification course, “Automotive Functional Safety and the ISO 26262 Standard”. The training course will be held from Monday September 23through Thursday September 26 2013, in Troy, Michigan. The same course will be offered again later in the year, from Monday December 2 through Thursday December 5 2013, in Troy, Michigan.
Participants of either four-day training session may optionally register for the certification exam, held on Friday immediately after the training session. Trainees who pass the exam will be certified as Functional Safety Certified Automotive Engineer (FSCAE), a designation conferred by TüV-Nord.
Training session participants will receive the unique and powerful Excel-based FMEDA-Workbench tool for ISO 26262 calculations. This spreadsheet-based tool, developed by TüV-Nord, streamlines analysis of safety-related hardware failures in accordance with ISO 26262 requirements. Participants will also receive a hard copy manual providing a comprehensive view of the ISO 26262 standard, and its implications and requirements for functional safety in the automotive industry.
The training is targeted toward a range of potential trainees including engineers working in safety-related embedded systems, managers responsible for developing safety-related automotive technologies, and safety & quality representatives seeking to verify compliance with automotive safety standards. Hardware, software, and systems engineering topics are each addressed in detail. Multiple real-world examples are used to illustrate the standard’s principles and applications in safety-related automotive systems.
“We see a growing need for ISO 26262 and functional safety knowledge in the North American automotive industry” said Bill Taylor, kVA‘s managing partner. “We at kVA, along with our partner TüV-Nord, are pleased to continue this training collaboration.”
Training class size is limited. A discount for early registration is offered through August 16. For more information or to register online, visit www.kvausa.com.
