Breakthrough Software Helps Stop Computer Hackers

August 13, 2013

FORT MYERS, Fla., Aug. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — One man’s encounter with computer hackers led to the invention of the Offline Switch(TM), a patented security software program that works in harmony with antivirus and firewall programs to provide vastly increased computer protection.

The odds of a hacker gaining access to your computer are increasing by tens of thousands daily. Even the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, U. S. Department of Defense and The New York Times have been recent victims of overseas computer hackers.

According to businessman and inventor Don Abbott, “Every minute your computer is left online, you are in danger of invasion by hackers. You are a sitting duck for identity theft and loss of valuable data. If a camera is attached to your computer, someone could be watching your every move without your knowledge. In addition, your email contacts likely will be compromised.”

Abbott continues, “I know this first hand. When returning to my office from a trip, I was shocked to see a totally blue computer screen. Hackers had found a way through the latest antivirus and firewall programs! That experience taught me a very important lesson. The only way to fully protect against hackers and viruses is to completely disconnect your computer from the Internet when you are not using it.”

With this revelation, Abbott began developing the Offline Switch(TM) — a software application that displays all Internet connections, including Ethernet and Wi-Fi, and allows the user to disable them with a single click. Other features include an “Idle Timer” to disable the Internet when you are away from your computer.

Abbott notes, “It stands to reason that, if Third World hackers work during their daytime hours, we are more vulnerable during our nighttime hours. The Offline Switch(TM) “Range Timer” disables the internet at pre-selected times of day and night. This also is a great feature for parental control of home computers.”

Offline Switch(TM) software is available for a one-time cost of $29.95. For a limited time, up to five additional computers can be protected for $14.95 each. Offline Switch(TM) currently works only with Windows(TM) based PC applications. A Mac version is under development. For a demonstration or to order, visit www.offlineswitch.com.
