Autism Services Group, Working With Autism’s Growth Rapidly Extends into Antelope Valley

September 6, 2013

Families of autistic teens and children present high demand for Working With Autism's treatment staff in Antelope Valley, Lancaster and Palmdale, California.

(PRWEB) September 06, 2013

Working With Autism Inc. announces a new service area after experiencing tremendous growth this year with new service area launches beyond central Los Angeles and extending as far as Santa Clarita Valley. The latest servicing location includes one of the most deserving of treatments for autistic children, teens and their families. The WWA Antelope Valley team of Board Certified Behavior Analysts will begin taking clients in the area as well as in Lancaster and Palmdale. These WWA staff members are local to the community and understand the sheer importance of their services in a deprived region.

Advancing into the territory will mean Antelope Valley families will have direct access to highly successful programs including the WWA PEERS program headed by Case Supervisor Jamie Dewitt.

“As a professional working with children on the autism spectrum since 2003, I have always been astounded by the impact that social deficits and poor friendship quality has on youths with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD),” said Dewitt.

The PEERS program addresses the need for more specialized social learning skills programs for autistic teens in their schools and communities. WWA’s PEERS group training teaches autistic children and adolescents about social cues, communication and how to best cope with rejection. Working With Autism dedicates an entire suite of training for teens in its Adolescent Unit which targets the unique needs of kids from ages 12 to 17. The director of this unit is a BCBA professional with nearly a decade of experience working with the adolescent community. Securing funding for WWA’s services is also conveniently made possible through the North Los Angeles Regional Center and select insurance providers.
