American Internet Services (AIS), a Data Center, Cloud, and Colocation Provider Headquartered in San Diego, CA, Successfully Completes SSAE 16 SOC 1, 2, and 3 Type 2 Audit

Successful third-party audits of each of AIS’s facilities confirm high standards for compliance and security.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) September 11, 2013

AIS (American Internet Services), a San Diego-based provider of tailored data center and cloud service solutions, announced it successfully completed a second round of SSAE 16 SOC 1, 2, and 3 Type 2 audits for each of the company’s enterprise-class facilities in the Southwestern United States.

Conducted by Moss Adams LLP, one of the largest accounting and business consulting firms in the nation, these third-party audits of AIS data center operations demonstrate high standards for compliance and security.

According to a February 2013 position paper, the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA)—a not-for-profit coalition of software companies, accounting firms, and other entities promoting cloud-based best practices—recommended that organizations using Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), or Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) systems obtain a Service Organization Control (SOC) 2 Type 2 report such as AIS has just completed. As opposed to a Type 1 audit, which covers just a single moment in time, a Type 2 audit investigates operations over a range of time. The most recent AIS audit compliance reporting period was for 12 months from May 1, 2012 to April 30, 2013.

“In successfully completing its current suite of SOC 1, SOC 2, and SOC 3 Type 2 audit reports, AIS has reinforced its strong commitment to the security and availability of its data center facilities and operations,” stated Chris Kradjan, Partner, National IT/SOC Practice Leader, Moss Adams.

“Refreshing our SSAE 16 SOC 1, 2, and 3 Type 2 audits is an important milestone for AIS—affirming that each of our seven facilities in San Diego, Phoenix, and Los Angeles has the appropriate internal controls in place for assuring the highest level of standards for compliance, security, and availability,” said Tim Caulfield, CEO at AIS. “Our SOC 2 Type 2 examination clearly sets us apart from the local and regional competition in the Southwest.”
