Parallel 6 Released the Mobile App, "ABASD" on Sept. 18 for Asian Business Association of San Diego. The mobile app which features augmented reality, gamification and loyalty technology was used at the 2nd Annual California Asian Business Summit.

The mobile app, entitled, “ABASD” was created to promote innovation and technical ingenuity, as well as provide a paperless, digital experience for guests at California Asian Business Summit.
“One of the defining features of the mobile app is augmented reality. At the Parallel 6 booth we were showing attendees how to use the AR feature. By hovering your mobile device over one of our business cards, the AR technology would identify the Parallel 6 logo and bring up a video about our mobile enterprise platform, Captive Reach. It was a great experience being able to share and educate business members of San Diego about this new and engaging technology,” said Parallel 6 CEO David Turner.
In addition to sponsorship details, an event schedule, and membership enrollment opportunities, the app was powered with a gamification and loyalty feature that allowed users to receive rewards through the app. Each company booth at the event had a unique QR code that, when scanned, would give the app user reward points. Some of the redeemable rewards included ABA networking mixer tickets, Lunar New Year tickets, and a $100 discount towards an ABA Corporate Ivory Membership.
In addition to creating the app, Parallel 6 was a gold sponsor of the event and Parallel 6 CEO David Turner spoke on the panel, “Innovation to Improve Your Business.” Turner was accompanied on the panel by spokespeople from San Diego Gas & Electric, Verizon Wireless and San Diego Daily Transcript.
