Maple Lawn, MD (PRWEB) October 07, 2013

Ira E. Hoffman, a Principal in the Government Contracts and International practice groups at Offit Kurman Attorneys at Law, has been selected to moderate a panel on "International Cooperation in Combating Cybercrime: Theory and Practice" on October 9th at the CyberMaryland 2013 conference at the Baltimore Convention Center. The panel's multinational experts — Gerald Caponera, General Manager, Global Partnerships, CyberPoint International; Raviv Raz, CEO, Hybrid Security (Israel); and Dr. Robert Tomes, Director for Tradecraft Advancement, BAE Systems — will discuss "best practices" and "lessons learned" from their extensive, but different, experiences with international cooperation in cyberspace, with the aim of proposing recommendations for improving international cooperation going forward. "Since we have both cyber allies and cyber adversaries from around the world, this panel is especially important because it is the only one of 25 panels and workshops at the conference that will focus on international issues," Mr. Hoffman said. For more information, or to register for CyberMaryland 2013, which is the largest cyber conference on the East Coast each year, see http://www.fbcinc.com/e/cybermdconference/

Mr. Hoffman, who writes and lectures frequently on government contracts, international, and cybersecurity law, was appointed earlier this year to the Advisory Board of CyberMaryland. A public-private partnership that was launched in 2010 to advance Maryland's goal of being the epicenter of the cyber world. CyberMaryland brings together representatives from Federal, State and local governments, the private sector, non-profits and academia to address the unrelenting challenges to the security of our nation's digital infrastructure, reinforce Maryland's leadership in cybersecurity and information technology, and support the nation's cybersecurity mission.
