Arizona Technology Council to Recognize Roger Vogel as Tucson Tech Expo Business Leader of the Year
Award will be presented at the Tucson Tech + Business Expo on October 16.
TUCSON, Ariz., Oct. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ — The Arizona Technology Council has selected Roger Vogel, former CEO of Vante, to receive the Tucson Tech Expo Business Leader of the Year Award. The award recognizes a Southern Arizona business leader who has made significant contributions that will help make Arizona “the fastest growing tech hub in the nation” consistent with the vision of the Arizona Technology Council. The award will be presented to Vogel by City of Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild at the opening of the Arizona Technology Council’s Tucson Tech + Business Expo to be held at the Jewish Community Center starting at 1:00 p.m. on October 16, 2013.
“Roger Vogel is highly deserving of this special recognition in light of his unrivaled commitment and personal efforts to helping turn Arizona into the fastest growing tech hub in the nation,” said Alex Rodriguez, Director of the Southern Arizona Regional Office of the Arizona Technology Council. “As former CEO of Vante and past segment leader at IBM plus his countless hours dedicated to community service and economic development, Roger is a strong role model for other business leaders to emulate. The Arizona Technology Council will host its Tucson Tech + Business Expo on October 16, 2013, connecting a diverse group of Tucson-based large and small technology and manufacturing companies to share capabilities and uncover new business opportunities. Attendees can register in advance at http://www.aztechcouncil.org/tucsonevents. The cost to attend is $25 for Council members and $40 for non-members. The exhibition space is sold out.
On-site registration will begin and the Expo will open at 12:30 p.m. at the Tucson Jewish Community Center located at 3800 E. River Road, Tucson, Arizona, 85718. City of Tucson Mayor Jonathan Rothschild will take the stage at 1:00 p.m. to present the Tucson Tech Expo Business Leader of the Year Award. Next, company representatives from Raytheon, Universal Avionics, National Instruments, Honeywell and B/E Aerospace will discuss their business outlooks, supply chain requirements, and procurement programs and goals to attendees interested in building supplier relationships. Contract manufacturers, engineering firms, technology providers and business services companies will be presenting their capabilities throughout the day.
Immediately after the presentations, the exhibits will be open and the Council will host its monthly After5 Networking event in the exhibition area. In addition, the Expo will give exhibitors and attendees plenty of time for one-on-one networking and to showcase their portfolio of services and technologies.
