Location-based mobile security and services developer AirPatrol Corporation today announced it has named Bobby Hernandez as its vice president of worldwide sales. Prior to joining AirPatrol, Hernandez was director of enterprise sales for global Internet security firm Websense which had over $360 billion in sales last year.
“2013 has been a record year for AirPatrol and we’re on trajectory for yet another record in 2014,” said Cleve Adams, Chief Executive Officer for AirPatrol. “To maintain that growth we need someone like Bobby; a professional with a proven track record in building and managing successful sales and support teams on a global basis.”
Hernandez has over 20 years of worldwide sales experience specializing in technology and security. He was one of the original members of Websense sales team and helped grow the company from pre-revenue into the billion dollar security titan it is today. As AirPatrol’s VP of worldwide sales, he will be responsible for overseeing the company’s sales team in its Washington DC-area headquarters as well as its newly opened regional offices in California, Europe and Australia.
“The disruption we’re seeing in the enterprise thanks to smartphones and tablets is very similar to tectonic shifts we saw when the Internet became commonplace in the office in the late 1990s,” Hernandez said. “I am excited to be part of a company who is helping to secure and transform a business world that is rapidly becoming 100% mobile. It’s a great time to join a pioneer in location-based services and security and help build the next big thing for mobile.”
