Former UNC Senior Associate Director of Athletics Joins Game Theory Group to Lead Their College Athletic Department Division
John Blanchard, the former UNC Chapel Hill Senior Associate Director of Athletics for Student-Athlete Development, has been named managing partner of Game Theory Group leading their College Athletic Department division.

John Blanchard has joined the Game Theory Group to lead their college athletic department division. "Throughout John's career he has set the benchmark for innovation and leadership in student-athlete development. More than that, John represents all that is good about college athletics: integrity, loyalty and character. We are thrilled to have John join GTG and play such a critical leadership role for us,” says Founder and CEO of the Game Theory Group Vin McCaffrey.
John brings with him a total of 28 years of experience as a college athletics administrator in academic services, student-athlete development and leadership programs. He most recently served as the Senior Associate Director of Athletics for UNC Chapel Hill. John is a graduate of Stanford University where he was an All-West Coast free safety. He earned a master’s in Social Work from San Diego State University.
