Intersect Alliance Announces the Release of Snare Server V6.2 With Enhanced Reflector and Encryption

November 19, 2013

Intersect Alliance, the developers of Snare, announced immediate availability of its Snare Server product Version 6.2. One of its new features is the Snare Reflector, which can send event data to multiple destinations simultaneously, using different protocols such as UDP (user datagram protocol), TCP (transmission control protocol) and TLS/SSL* (Transport Layer Security/ Secure Sockets Layer) encryption.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) November 19, 2013

One of the top performance criteria of a SIEM is its reliability. With the new Snare Server’s v6.2 ability to send data to multiple destinations, simultaneously and using different encryption protocols, there is a higher reliability in the delivery of messages critical for security purposes, in particular with distributed networks and cloud services.

The costs associated to a SIEM operation are also a source of concern not only for the IT (Information Technology) department, but also CEOs (Chief Executive Officers) and CFOs (Chief Financial Officers). Companies worldwide have benefited from deploying Snare Enterprise Agents to find, filter, and forward event logs to multiple destinations including Snare Servers, other SIEMs or MSSPs (Management Security Service Provider). This translates into lower costs for organizations, since only relevant data is forwarded, getting rid of the "noise" and reducing the demands placed on the SIEM server or service.

Snare Server V6.2 is an update driven by customer feedback and is also part of Intersect Alliance’s commitment to “play well with others." V6.2 can be used as a SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) end point or a SIEM node in a multi-tiered environment, along with other Syslog collectors, server and aggregators. “The new multi destination reflector capabilities of the Snare Server help tackle one of the main challenges confronting the IT security world, providing highly reliable end-to-end delivery of events in a complex multi-tiered environment with encryption,” said Steve Challans, Principal Consultant of Intersect Alliance.
