TangoWire Announces Implementation of Innovative Software by BeehiveID to Discourage Fake Profiles

December 9, 2013

TangoWire, a leading online dating community with millions of members in over 50 niche dating categories, is the first online website of its kind to implement BeehiveID, a cutting edge technology aimed at preventing scammers from creating fake profile or identities online.

(PRWEB) December 09, 2013

TangoWire, one of the world's largest online niche dating services through such sites as SinglesPlace.com, has announced its implementation of an innovative new software program from BeehiveID in order to better serve its customers by protecting them against online scammers or bogus members. BeehiveID is a new ID verification technology that uses social network analysis and biometric face matching to comb through social data to find patterns real people have and fraudulent accounts do not.

“Trust is a key issue to our customers,“ said Bryan Brown, CEO of TangoWire. “Since we launched BeehiveID, we’ve seen a 21% increase in the number of members participating in the verification process. This is significant because it clearly demonstrates that trust has a substantial impact on participation. We’ve also seen a 30% increase in the number of subscribers who are being successfully verified.”

He went on to explain that BeehiveID works by analyzing everything from an individual's social media history to how their online friendships and Facebook posts are clustered in order to determine whether a genuine person or a spambot is posting.

BeehiveID analyzes the data it collects on an individual, then assigns that person a score based on how genuine that individual is. Like a credit score, the BeehiveID score is a measure of how confident a person is who they claim to be. A low score (400) is a bot or fake account. A high score (850) means the account reflects a real person.

BeehiveID’s CEO and Co-Founder Mary Haskett said, “In the physical world, robbers wear masks. But on the internet, people who intend to commit fraud wear fake identities. Real people have a complex web of online connections through interactions such as Facebook likes, Tweets, check-ins, and uploaded photographs. These complex interactions cannot be faked by fraudsters.”

TangoWire's CEO has been impressed with the results thus far. “We have noticed profiles that have been verified with BeehiveID are getting significantly more traffic and generate more interest from other members. Since we've begun offering the new verification system, we've been impressed with its 95% success rate at spotting fake identities. Every year, more and more people are meeting others through sites like TangoWire.com and SinglesPlace.com, so we will continue to introduce cutting edge technology like BeehiveID in order to protect our members."
