Mother of Six Creates Magazine App, Still Pool Meditation Magazine, for Calmness
When a mother of six children can tell you how to achieve calmness in your life, you know she's offering something that commands attention.

Sunshine Coast Hinterland's, mother of six, Ninindi Johnstone, has created an online magazine app that can be accessed on iPhones and iPads, so that information and practices for well-being, such as guided meditation and self awareness activities, are now portable and can be carried in a pocket to be enjoyed in any place, at any time. Imagine, enjoying a guided meditation on the way to work on the train, or at lunch.
Ninindi believes that her creation, 'Still Pool' magazine, is the first of its kind, being about much more than just meditation. "It's about coming to a place of still mind, not just through meditation but through many modalities which normally have to be experienced by going to a class, a workshop or a practitioner," Ninindi said about the magazine which went live in November 2013.
Each month, a new issue brings new experiences, ideas and opportunities through five different classifications: Ancient teachings; Happiness take away; Consciousness keys; Self-improvement wholeness; and Improving intelligence. The sort of thing to be found there, varies broadly, but one example is daily exercises to develop and maintain a positive outlook and deepen self-awareness. Here readers can find out how to have more meaningful contact with people, increase powers of observation and concentration, how to break old habits and how to make the best use of your energy in life. There's also beautiful music to inspire, enjoy and help to meditate or just to relax. All of the categories are very practical. There's something of substance and value to ‘get out of’ each thing.
In the next issue, due late January, there will be a channel for Ninindi’s own musical compositions along with her partner, Yughali’s shamanic-style, energetic, healing, guided practices and information. There'll also be contact details for those who'd like to feature their own meditations or healing practices for free.
Ninindi's music comes to her via intuitive and meditative practices. Sometimes it comes with words and sometimes she just produces a melody as an introduction into different states of awareness – the kind produced by the right side of the brain eliciting an open expansive state of being. Most of her musical themes or qualities are nature derived like her 'Water' album and 'Playful Heart' – a completely improvised compilation that she recently recorded with Lee Hardisty.
The concept of Still Pool Meditation came to Ninindi while surfing the net. She came across a product to help people make their own magazine, which struck a chord with her as something she was meant to do. When it came to the process of choosing what it would be about and how to put it together, Still Pool Meditation came to Ninindi through meditative processes/sleep.
When asked what brought Ninindi to become so involved in singing, song writing and now Still Pool Meditation Magazine, she says, "When I was little I went on road trips with my parents and they would sing choir songs. I think that put me in love with singing. Then when I was in my twenties I was seeking something more substantial in my life, and I kept internally asking to be telepathic. I got my wish after meeting Yughali, clearing out years of societal and parental programming, having kids, and living as an original being thoroughly connected to the land. Original is a correct lawful way of saying aboriginal."
You can preview Still Pool Meditation and claim a three month subscription bonus at: http://bit.ly/1euxWij and access it from the app store via itunes' 'Newsstand'. It's free to download and costs $ 5.49 per issue or $ 2.99 per month on 12 month's subscription with 3 month option coming soon. If Ninindi's lifestyle and practices give her the presence of mind and space to create all of this while raising 6 children, her creation must have something very special to offer indeed!
