The Parental Feature allows parents to monitor their children's use of the app to ensure safe driving.

Tampa, FL (PRWEB) January 08, 2014

The release of the Android App Drive Not Text is designed to put an end to texting and driving. Texting and driving has become an epidemic since the inception of the Smart Phone. Almost ¼ of all accidents involve the use of a cell phone leading to over 1.3 million crashes per year. Texting and driving is actually 6 times more dangerous than drinking and driving. What is maybe most disturbing is 77% of young adults think they can safely text and drive.

The Drive Not Text App works in the background of a Smart Phone and when traveling at over 10 MPH the App is activated. Once activated the driver will be unable to send a text message and incoming texts will receive an automatic reply stating the user is driving and will get back to them shortly. Specifically designed for parents of young adults, there is a Parental Setting for parents to monitor their children’s use of the app to ensure safe driving.

Currently 10 states prohibit the use of any cell phones while driving and in 39 states it is illegal to text and drive. The Drive Not Text App is a meant for anyone with a Smart Phone. Parents of children who drive may also use the App with the Parental feature to monitor their children’s driving and texting.

Smart Phone users or Parents of young adults with Smart Phones who are interested in learning more about this new App can visit http://www.DriveNotText.com or visit the Android Play Store on any Android mobile device.
