Macnica Americas vWorkshop Series Shows Engineers Why Architecture Matters for SoC Design
New Series of Free Interactive vWorkshops Begin in March Teaching Hardware and Software Design Techniques for Altera SoC FPGAs
San Diego, CA (PRWEB) February 20, 2014
Macnica Americas announced a new set of free virtual workshops centered around hardware and software development using the Altera Cyclone® V SoC on the Mpression Macnica Helio View development kit. Based on the popular vWorkshop series held in 2013, the new workshops have been redesigned to be more interactive and focus on key aspects of designing with Cyclone V SoC devices, including tool setup, processor and FPGA hardware usage, power management, operating systems, debug tools, and video/graphics processing.
“Altera’s customizable SoCs are a great fit for many industrial, communications, broadcast, military, aerospace, medical and other applications. Macnica Americas vWorkshops have helped many engineers get started on SoC design,” said John Burton, President of Macnica Americas. “Through this new vWorkshop series, designers quickly become aware that architecture really matters in many aspects of SoC design and learn how to take advantage of the Altera SoC architecture in their designs.”
A video showing different methods of doing graphics acceleration using the Helio View Cyclone V SoC kit can be seen at http://www.macnica-na.com/helio-view-demo.
The workshops can be attended live and students can follow along using their own Helio View kit, which is available for purchase online from the Macnica Americas web site at http://www.macnica-na.com/heliokit. The workshop recordings are also available for viewing on-demand after each session is held and can be viewed in any order.
Live workshop presentations begin on March 25, 2014. For complete course descriptions, agendas, schedule of sessions, and links to registration, visit http://www.macnica-na.com/socworkshops.
