Apple on Tuesday released a minor update to its iOS mobile operating system, offering bug fixes, improvements in keyboard responsiveness and performance enhancements of the iPhone 5s Touch ID fingerprint sensor, reports Apple Insider and other media outlets.

Apple said iOS 7.1.1 is available immediately over the air, and should show up soon as a download through iTunes. The update is compatible with iPhone versions 5s, 5c, 4s and 4, as well as recent iPad and iPod touch models.

The three issues mentioned in Apple’s iOS 7.1.1 release notes include further improvements to Touch ID on the iPhone 5s, a bug fix that could “impact keyboard responsiveness,” and a patch for a specific issue regarding VoiceOver when using a Bluetooth keyboard.

There are also security improvements, although Apple has not yet provided specific details on these fixes.

The latest update follows last month's release of iOS 7.1, a major upgrade that addressed a variety of issues, including problems that caused some iPhones and iPads to crash when using the multitasking view and web browsing with Safari.

Apple is expected to release its next major iOS update during the company’s Worldwide Developer Conference in June.
