Athletes, Actors, and Poker Pros compete in a friendly poker game prior to the ESPY Awards while raising $60,000 for Model Citizen Fund and other great causes

July 18, 2014

GBK Productions, the luxury lifestyle gift lounge and special events company, hosted some top names in the sports world, along with some other special guests in a friendly poker competition in hopes to raise awareness and funds for a few great causes.

Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) July 18, 2014

GBK leveraged their resources from the luxury gift lounge that took place during the day to entice many to return that evening to play poker for a good cause. CEO, Gavin Keilly said, “It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to help so many charities that are doing such incredible work in world.”

The public had the opportunity to buy in to this tournament with a donation of $500 to their charity of choice. The charities that participated were: Operation Gratitude, Echoes of Hope, My Life My Power, and Model Citizen Fund, which the founder Dan Fleyshman pulled out all the stops to convince many of his friends to come out to support. 100% of the buy-in went to charity, with an outcome of over $60,000.

With all the participants the prizes ended up being distributed equally between the poker pros, celebrity and one rookie, fashion designer Brandi Howe, who has barely played, but certainly gave the pros a run for their money…

The Winner of the Tournament was Tim James taking home a $10,000 Daniel Bass Diamond Encrusted Necklace. Daniel too, was touched by the great work that the Model Citizen Fund does. He said, “ I love the fact that the Backpacks provided by this organization has 150 emergency supply items inside and last about 3 weeks.” Some supplies can be used for years by the homeless recipients. Respectively, the 3rd and 4th place winners got to choose from a 3 night stay to any of the Mayan Palace Resorts or $3,000 bed from the Luxury Bed designer Maxim Mattress.

In addition to the prizes, many of the celebrities took home a beautiful money clip from M-Clip. They are excited to finally be able to carry their cash in an elegant way.
