Toshiba Awarded 'Best of Show' at INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO Fall 2004; Toshiba's Strata CIX Honored for Innovation and Quality at Leading VoIP Event in Los Angeles
Posted on: Wednesday, 15 December 2004, 12:00 CST
Toshiba America Information Systems Digital Solutions Division (TAIS DSD) announced today that the Toshiba Strata CIX native IP business telephony system has been named a "Best of Show" winner at Technology Marketing Corp. (TMC)'s INTERNET TELEPHONY(R) Conference and EXPO Fall 2004. The show, held in October at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles, is widely considered the Number 1 global event focused on VoIP.
The Strata CIX is also the industry's only business communications system with FeatureFlex(TM), which allows users to customize or create features enabling greater flexibility and improved efficiency. Enterprises can create features companywide, by department, or for individual users.
Designed for small- to medium-sized enterprises or larger corporate users with multiple sites, Toshiba's Strata CIX supports up to 672 ports. It can be run as a pure IP system or can be TDM enabled, allowing enterprises to use IP where it makes sense. Strata CIX also offers all the features of Toshiba's traditional TDM systems in a native IP solution and provides a smooth migration path from Toshiba Strata CTX and Strata DK digital business communication systems.
"Toshiba's Strata CIX delivers on the promise of IP telephony by providing enterprises with the ability to customize their own systems -- for the entire company, by department or even down to the individual user -- using Toshiba's FeatureFlex capabilities," said Michael E. Durance, vice president and general manager of TAIS DSD. "Toshiba Strata CIX is built to deliver every feature to every device, whether an end-user has a wireless or wired telephone, desktop or mobile telephone, or even a softphone on a laptop or PDA."
"The new Toshiba Strata CIX is a standout indication of technological innovation and product feature sets within the IP telephony marketplace, and we are pleased to honor Toshiba as a 'Best of Show' winner," said Rich Tehrani, TMC president and conference chairman. "Toshiba's innovation and commitment to deliver products that solve problems today, while delivering solutions for tomorrow, made them a standout at the Internet Telephony Show."
The "Best of Show" awards emphasize technological innovation and product feature sets. Products that will aid in developing next generation of VoIP solutions were also awarded. Each winner submitted a thorough application and displayed and demonstrated their product on the INTERNET TELEPHONY(R) Expo show floor.
"By all accounts, INTERNET TELEPHONY(R) Conference & EXPO Fall 2004 was one of the most successful VoIP events ever staged. Attendees and exhibitors alike agreed the energy at the show was indicative of the amazing surge of excitement for the IP telephony industry. Toshiba and Strata CIX are positioned perfectly to lead a strong resurgence in sales and deployments of VoIP products and services," added Michael Genaro, vice president of Marketing for TMC.
A full list of the winners will appear in the December 2004 issue of INTERNET TELEPHONY magazine.
The next INTERNET TELEPHONY Conference & EXPO will be held Feb. 22-25, 2005, at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Miami. For information, visit www.itexpo.com.
