Ezmo Opens Social Music Network to U.S. Market

Ezmo, (http://www.ezmo.com), announced today that it has opened up its popular online social music network to the U.S. market. Already popular in Europe, Ezmo is a free online music player and social networking service that provides the ability for consumers to easily upload their entire music library to the web. Users can then invite and share with up to ten friends as well as access their music anywhere with an Internet connection.
"We are excited to enter the U.S. market and expand social music networking to a new base of enthusiasts," said Petter Karal, CEO of Ezmo. "We hope that the music industry will also recognize this as a valuable tool to expand their online footprint -- social networks are a great way to extend influential word of mouth and Ezmo is embracing that revolution in an area that, to-date, has not successfully leveraged the power of Web 2.0 community."
While technologies for the consumption of online music continue to advance, the ability to upload music and share it across platforms has seen slow progression, often locking users into a closed system with limited interoperability and mobility. With the advent of MP3 players, purchasing has become an integral part of the online music experience, but sharing continues to present challenges. Ezmo's mission is to expand opportunities to discover music via friends and social recommendations, which in turn drive music sales. With the friend streaming feature, users can invite a limited number of close friends and family to view and listen to his or her music collection.
"Music over the web is transforming the industry and what Ezmo is doing is providing a premium-class, truly engaging way to listen, share and download music," said Andrew Shorten, platform evangelist, Adobe Systems. "Built with Adobe tools and software, Ezmo is an intuitive, easy to navigate site that takes advantage of the ubiquitous Flash Player."
Ezmo is clean, simple and free. It provides each user with a personal music storage locker to easily:
Upload
Upload songs individually or use Ezmo's music uploader tool (Mac and Windows) to import your entire iTunes, Windows Media Player or Winamp library.
Listen
Listen to the music via an online music player - log in to your account from any computer and listen to your music using a cool and user-friendly interface.
Share
Invite up to ten friends to share your music - friends can then stream your entire music library on any computer.
