The Denver-based law firm of Holland & Hart, the largest law firm in the Rocky Mountain West, with 370 attorneys in 14 offices, has signed an agreement with Hamilton Partners Inc. to anchor the new 22- story office tower now under construction at 222 S. Main St. in downtown Salt Lake City.
Holland & Hart will initially take 67,000 square feet – the top three floors – where 65 attorneys and support staff will work.
“We appreciate the opportunity to become the anchor tenant of the 222 South Main Tower after several years of exhausting reviews of many downtown Salt Lake City options in hopes of finding the best space to meet our firm’s growing needs,” said Carl Barton, partner with Holland & Hart. “In the end it was Hamilton Partners’ progressive vision for a beautiful, prominent and state-of-the-art architectural structure with the ability to expand that won us over. We expect this building to offer the most striking opportunity in Salt Lake City’s downtown business district.”
Chicago-based Brinks, Hofer, Gilson & Lione, also a law firm, was the first tenant to sign a lease in the Class A building in April.
Greg Gunn of Coldwell Banker represented Holland & Hart in the lease transaction, which took more than three years to negotiate.
The $125 million 222 South Main tower, the first highrise to be built in downtown Salt Lake City since 1998, will consist of 425,000 square feet, including street-front retail.
