NY Financial Services Firm Deploys Beta of NetPriva WAN Optimization Solution

NetPriva Pty Ltd announced today that Version 4.4 of its EPDirect offering is now shipping in beta form and channel partner Cypress Integrated Systems has deployed the software-based WAN Optimization solution with a Manhattan financial services firm.
EPDirect is a software-only distributed traffic shaper that provides application delivery with guaranteed bandwidth and prioritization. Version 4.4 brings a series of new features and benefits to the market including; central management for disparate locations, ICS support (Windows Internet Connection Sharing), URL and Citrix ICA channel policy hierarchy, VPN Support for Cisco, Microsoft and Juniper, MPLS Mark and Monitor capabilities, automatic network statistics collector discovery including remote collector support, and support for WAN Gateway Servers (tail routing). Also version 4.4 supports Deep Packet Inspection for priority channels such as establishing control policies on specific URLs.
Prior to deploying NetPriva, the management team at the Manhattan-based financial services firm were frustrated that critical business applications were performing poorly. "We had theories but nobody was entirely sure what was driving the degradation in application performance," said Sanford Whiteman, Chief Technologist for Cypress Integrated Systems, a New York provider of integration services and software solutions. "When testing with EPDirect 4.4 (beta) the firm obtained detailed visibility on application performance right down to the individual PC, user and server. Based upon this new visibility we were able to utilize the NetPriva solution to create application and traffic policies, giving priority to the business critical applications."
"We optimized application performance for the firm's most critical business applications and managed the available WAN bandwidth accordingly for each desktop and server," continued Mr. Whiteman. "NetPriva's solution also allowed us to limit or eliminate non-business application use sites such as YouTube or MySpace, without any hardware to deploy. It was incredibly simple to implement NetPriva's QoS and WAN Optimization software solution."
Todd Viegut, NetPriva's President agreed, "We are pleased that NetPriva is able to provide substantial improvements in business critical application performance for our customers. EPDirect 4.4 now available in beta also works with encrypted traffic, which was very important for this customer. EPDirect allows management policies to be applied on applications, URLs and users throughout this customers WAN. It's further affirmation of the value that the NetPriva solution brings to the market."
Earlier this year NetPriva announced the software only solution. Known as End Point Direct or 'EPDirect', it guarantees bandwidth and prioritizes application traffic direct to the end points of the network. Users can now be assured of consistent response for their business critical applications.
