State of New York Includes Time Warner Telecom in 10-Year Communications Contract

LITTLETON, Colo., Oct. 29 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Time Warner Telecom Inc. , a leading provider of managed voice and data networking solutions for business and government, today announced that it is one of multiple providers awarded a 10-year Comprehensive Telecommunications Services contract by the State of New York to deliver advanced communications solutions to state, municipal and city governments, higher education institutions, and not-for-profit organizations throughout the state.
Under terms of the contract, Time Warner Telecom has the ability to deliver Ethernet, Internet access, ISDN PRIs and MPLS-based IP VPN services, as well as colocation solutions, to organizations located within the State of New York. Time Warner Telecom operates nearly 1500 route miles of fiber in New York and delivers services to its business customers in Manhattan, Albany, Rochester, Binghamton and throughout the state.
Time Warner Telecom delivers high speed, high capacity communications solutions to businesses, carriers and government entities in 30 states and 75 markets across the U.S. The company's Ethernet solution provides connectivity based on the same protocol that is currently used in nearly all businesses across the country. Time Warner Telecom provides MPLS-based IP VPN services allowing for the connection of multiple locations, while maintaining the ability to prioritize network traffic. Time Warner Telecom provides voice solutions that connect to existing digital PBX or key systems. Additionally, the company provides fully protected colocation facilities in its central office locations to offer businesses and government entities secure space to locate remote switch and data storage equipment. Time Warner Telecom also operates an IP network to send information at speeds from 2 Mbps to 10 Gbps.
