Beacon Communication Services Moves to ThinkEngine Networks' VSR1000 Media Server for Conferencing and IVR Applications
Posted on: Tuesday, 30 October 2007, 09:00 CDT
ThinkEngine Networks, Inc (AMEX: THN), a leading provider of TDM and IP capable conferencing bridges and media servers, announced today that Beacon Communication Services has chosen the VSR1000 as the platform for their Collaboration and IVR applications.
"At Beacon we have focused on the combination of technology and quality customer service for our conferencing services. Customizing the application for each of our customers has been one important aspect to our success," said John Duplin, President and CEO of Beacon Communications Services. "We had developed our conferencing and IVR applications on Intel/Dialogic hardware, but what we've found is, that as we continue to grow, it is becoming increasingly difficult to manage this environment and scale our business. We needed a media server where these applications could reside and where they could easily be customized as we continue to win new business."
"We looked at just about every commercially available conferencing bridge and decided on the VSR1000 as the platform for us moving forward," continued Duplin. "The VSR1000 is more than a conferencing bridge. It is an exceptional media server with tools that allow us to easily customize call flows and then manage our customer's individual environments. The ThinkEngine team has worked very closely with us to help us migrate to the VSR1000 and we believe this platform will allow us to focus more time on our customer's experience, without worrying about how to implement changes in our old environment."
"Beacon provides very customized experiences for their conferencing and IVR customers," said Mike Wixon, Vice President of Product Management at ThinkEngine Networks. "Together, we focused on reducing the complexity of providing customized user experiences. Our Call Flow Emulation and Call Flow Designer tools that run on the VSR1000 are GUI based 'drag-and-drop' modules that simplify the process of creating the 'sticky' services required for Beacon to differentiate their offering and retain customers in today's competitive marketplace."
