Record Levels of Spam

ALMOST 70pc of emails received by the average Irish computer user last month contained spam, an all-time record high.

The statistic, released by IE Internet, is based on a check of more than 35,000 individual email boxes.

The level was 4 percentage points higher than the 66pc seen in the previous month.

IE Internet said spam from China, France and Russia is increasing dramatically.
