iMediaStreams Launches the Next Generation in Behavioral Targeting and Ad Serving Technology - Interest Based Targeting

Posted on: Monday, 5 November 2007, 06:00 CST

When used correctly, behavioral targeting can greatly increase the effectiveness of an online advertising campaign. Online communities such as social networks are greatly changing content and the way individuals communicate with one another. Correctly targeting prospects within online communities, based on their needs and preferences, has presented advertisers with a challenge and begs the question -- how do we successfully rank individual interests based on the content and information provided within online communities and social networks?

Three new technologies, developed by iMediaStreams, are successfully addressing this challenge and serving advertisers' needs in the new socially networked Web. iMediaStreams is the developer of iPoint, iServe and iMusic. All three technologies utilize an Interest Based Targeting methodology to target ads based on interests manifested through user profiles within online communities.

iPoint categorizes and ranks its clients' digital assets based on online communities interests as well as demographic and psychographic characteristics. The data that is collected using iPoint is then integrated with iServe and used to deliver relevant online banner and in-stream advertising to potential customers. With iMusic, detailed usage information is provided to audio and video content owners to better track usage.

"We recognized that a major shift was happening in the online advertising marketplace. As social networks and online communities began to proliferate, advertisers were finding it more difficult to successfully target ads based on site visitor profiles," stated Dr. Ahmed Gomaa, President of iMediaStreams. "iPoint, iServe and iMusic analyze content and profile data at a more granular level. These technologies not only track what people are reading, listening to and watching, it also analyzes what is being said about the content available on a specific site for categorization and ranking purposes. This allows us to provide more relevant data to an advertiser to deliver a more effective online campaign."

"Now we can pinpoint target consumers by identifying online communities that have shown interest in our product category, who or what has influenced a community and what content is of most interest to site visitors. This more detailed demographic and psychographic information guarantees targeted delivery of our message," continued Henri Boll, President and CEO of Masks Exhibition and ArtsOrigin.com.

iMusic provides a different layer of analysis and ranking technology for the music industry. iMusic technology protects online music and video content and provides the data that advertisers and copyright holders need to ensure timely and accurate payment processing. The data collected using iMusic technology includes detailed information on when and where music is being played, who is playing and what the listeners are saying. This information is then used to position products where it will generate the best ROI as well as where and when to arrange everything from advertising to live performances.

Target customers for iPoint and iServe include advertisers, brand managers, agencies, content owners and ad networks as well as online companies interested in better understanding their audience. iMusic customers include musicians, music managers and production houses.
