INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- n|Frame, Indiana's premier data center and IT infrastructure solutions provider, announces it has invested $250,000 in Storage Area Network (SAN) technology to provide its clients with secure, cost-efficient and highly available data storage. The introduction of the new SAN solution is an additional example of n|Frame's commitment to meeting the increasingly complex information technology demands of its clients.
"SAN technology is most suitable for organizations that require 24/7 access to large volumes of data," said Robert J. Alcorn, chief operating officer for n|Frame. It offers n|Frame's clients a variety of benefits including reliable access to information and applications, efficient and secure data backup, scalable storage capacity and cost savings.
The new storage solution ultimately reduces hardware costs by maximizing the utilization of existing servers. It also minimizes the need for capital purchases of additional hardware for data storage. "Consolidating data storage with our SAN solution increases the usefulness of our clients' existing IT infrastructure resources several times over," said Alcorn.
With SAN technology, pools of data reside virtually on a network (instead of on an individual server) where the information can be monitored, managed and shared seamlessly among multiple applications, systems and users. "Consolidation allows any number of people within an organization to share and access that data where they need it and whenever they need it," Alcorn stated. "Additionally, we can perform maintenance and upgrades to a client's SAN without disrupting access to data or applications. Network downtime just isn't an option for our clients."
Alcorn reports that n|Frame will continue to broaden its suite of managed technology services by investing in new solutions that include remote system monitoring, virtualization and high availability back up.
