Tokyo, Nov. 7 Kyodo – Ichiro Ozawa officially announced on Wednesday that he will stay on as president of the largest opposition Democratic Party of Japan, retracting his earlier offer to step down for causing confusion within the party over a proposal to form an alliance with the ruling party.
Ozawa told a meeting of DPJ lawmakers, “I have made up my mind to stake the whole of my political career on the House of Representatives election and to fight it through with all my might and definitely score a victory.”
