Juniper Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ: JNPR), the leader in high-performance networking, today announced that Intermatic, Inc., a manufacturer of consumer and industrial energy control products based in Spring Grove, Illinois and originally founded in 1891, is accelerating the performance and security of its network-based applications and services with Juniper Networks high-performance network infrastructure. Intermatic has deployed Juniper Networks J-series services routers, Secure Services Gateway (SSG) platforms, Secure Access (SA) SSL VPN appliances and WXC application acceleration platforms to provide fast, reliable and secure access to applications and services over a single network.
"Juniper's high-performance network infrastructure provides us with greater choice and control in quickly meeting our high-performance business requirements and has significantly improved the availability of applications and data to our employees, partners and customers," said Pete Revel, IT Manager at Intermatic. "Since deploying Juniper's products, we've realized phenomenal results in application performance with up to a 6X improvement in Common Internet File System (CIFS) traffic allowing employees to open large files in sub seconds rather than waiting the typical 30 to 90 seconds."
Intermatic relies on Juniper's WXC wide-area network (WAN) acceleration platforms to improve application response times, maximize WAN investments and control and prioritize key applications. Based on the integrated WX Framework, the WXC platforms help Intermatic increase the performance and scale of its business-critical applications.
Juniper's market-leading SSL VPN appliances provide Intermatic's employees, partners and customers secure remote access to applications and files, enabling worldwide collaboration on projects in a secure and trusted environment. Additionally, as Intermatic continues to grow, the Secure Access SSL VPN appliances will allow for rapid and transparent network access to new employees while the disparate networks are integrated.
For high-performance secure branch office connectivity, Intermatic leverages Juniper's SSG security platforms and J-series services routers. Juniper's SSG products are purpose-built security platforms that deliver secure LAN/WAN connectivity at scale for remote office deployments. In addition to performing stateful firewall and VPN functions, the SSG security platforms protect inbound traffic flows from worms, spyware, Trojans, and malware with a comprehensive set of optional Unified Threat Management security features that include intrusion prevention, antivirus, Anti-Spam, and Web Filtering functionality.
Juniper's J-series services routers offer predictable high-performance and a variety of flexible interfaces that deliver secure and reliable network connectivity to regional, branch, and remote offices. Running the consistent, modular JUNOS software, the J-series routers extends modularity and services integration to the branch, offering best-in-class routing with security.
"Juniper's suite of enterprise class products provides a cohesive network environment allowing companies such as Intermatic to build a reliable and secure high-performance network infrastructure," said Steven Wastie, vice president of enterprise marketing at Juniper Networks. "We are very pleased that Intermatic is deploying Juniper network infrastructure to accelerate and secure the deployment of new services and applications with the scalability to meet future needs."
