Zvents, the local search engine for things to do, today announced the continued adoption of its cutting-edge events search technology by signing on two new media partners: MediaNews Group Interactive and North Jersey Media Group. The publishers will use the Zvents Media Platform to power their local listings and provide the most comprehensive online entertainment and event search experiences available today. MediaNews Group Interactive is one of the largest newspaper companies in the United States, with over 50 daily newspaper website properties spanning 12 states. North Jersey Media Group (www.northjersey.com) is the publisher of Northern New Jersey's largest group of Daily and Weekly newspapers and the area's largest local newspaper website.
Zvents will actively aggregate business and event information within Media News Group Interactive's metro areas allowing users to conduct "what, when, and where" searches for millions of events, restaurants, movies, performers, and other local activities using natural search queries on the publishers' newspaper websites. Users can search and discover local events or venues, including dates and times, ticket prices, descriptions, venue information, ratings, and mapped locations. Zvents' publisher tools also enable users to contribute their own content by creating their own event and venue listings, writing reviews, suggesting comments, uploading photos, adding related links, and more.
"After successfully launching several of MediaNews Group Interactive's major individual properties such as the San Jose Mercury News, The Denver Post, and LA.com, we are excited that MNGi has partnered with Zvents to power their entire interactive newspaper network," said Ethan Stock, Zvents CEO and co-founder. "Zvents has a proven track record in the local media business for providing innovative, unmatched local search solutions, and we are excited to deliver an engaging user experience for North Jersey Media Groups' and MNGi's extensive list of properties."
Zvents currently powers over 100 newspaper publishing partners, including some of the nation's largest media companies such as The New York Times Regional Media Group and Freedom Interactive.
