Digital Lightwave Announces Additional Line Code Support for 40G Test Solutions

Posted on: Thursday, 15 November 2007, 09:00 CST

Digital Lightwave®, Inc. (OTCBB:DIGL), a leading provider of optical networking test equipment and technology, today announced that the new 40/43G testing module for the NIC Platform will support NRZ, Duo-Binary, DPSK and DQPSK line coding. This will enable the system to support line-side and client-side testing for research and development, manufacturing and field applications.

The NIC 40G is the smallest and lightest field portable solution for 40Gbps SONET/SDH and 43Gbps OTN network testing. With dimensions of 10x12x5 inches (25.4x30.5x12.7 centimeters) and weighing less than 15 pounds (6.8 kilograms), the NIC 40G is less than half the weight of competitive offerings. The NIC 40G fits under an airline seat and can be easily carried by field technicians in its included soft case with shoulder strap.

The NIC Plus chassis, equipped with 40/43G Module plus the Next-Generation Multi-Rate (NGMR) Module (SONET/SDH/OTN up to 10.7G), High-Density Ethernet Module and PDH/T-Carrier Module is an all-in-one solution for network testing from 1.5Mbps to 43Gbps plus Ethernet 10/100/1000/GigE/10GigE. Moreover, the NGMR can be equipped with Test Options including NextGeneration mappings (VCAT/LCAS/GFP) that today's network providers need. The NIC Plus can also be equipped with two 40/43G modules for multiple/simultaneous testing.

"By providing the industry with the smallest, lightest 40G test solution, Digital Lightwave once again sets the standard, just as we did for 10Gbps, 2.5Gbps and 622Mbps network testing," stated Ted Myers, CEO.

Also available in a rack-mount version, the Digital Lightwave NIC platform provides 40/43G solutions for research and development, manufacturing, field turn-up and ongoing maintenance applications.
