IBM PC Server to Include SmartExpress

Geong International, a provider of enterprise content management software, has signed a bundling agreement with IBM China to provide its SmartExpress product with IBM’s PC Server.

SmartExpress is the entry level product of the SmartBox product family and is aimed at very small businesses (VSBs). Through Geong’s three-year ‘Loyalty Programme’ for SmartExpress, VSBs pay a minimal initial fee per user in the first year and then pay double that amount for the second and third year. The aim of this programme is to allow quick penetration into the VSB market by providing a low cost, basic, ECM solution, which can be upgraded or added to at a later date.

Wang Weidong, chief executive of Geong, said: “The bundling of our SmartExpress product with IBM’s PC Server illustrates the increasing acceptance of SmartExpress as an ECM solution for very small businesses. This agreement provides us with exposure to a large potential market which we hope we will be able to capitalize on in the future.”
