Tele2 Zakelijk Offers Managed Security Service

The Netherlands-based telecom operator Tele2 Zakelijk has launched a managed security service based on network infrastructure provider Juniper Networks' integrated firewall solutions. The service offers protection against threats while maintaining network performance for the Dutch enterprise market.
The service is based on Juniper Networks' secure services gateway (SSG) platforms to deliver firewall functions. It also protects the inbound traffic flows from virus and malicious software using a set of unified threat management security features such as intrusion prevention, antivirus, anti-spam and web filtering.
"The network is a critical business asset for enterprises of any size, but the risk posed to valuable data and applications by hackers, viruses and other malware can be counter-productive," said Bram Smits, director business markets at Tele2 Zakelijk.
"Tele2 Zakelijk has vast experience in offering managed services, and with the introduction of the Managed Security Suite, it is continuing to anticipate the market's needs as threats proliferate and become more sophisticated," said David Small, vice president of channels, EMEA at Juniper Networks.
In February 2007, Juniper's unified threat management and high-speed firewalling/VPN with integrated intrusion prevention solution was selected by telecommunications operator TeliaSonera to launch managed security services.
