Propel Receives Emerging Tech Award From Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal

SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- Propel Software Corporation (http://www.propel.com/), a market leader in Internet acceleration and network optimization solutions, has received a 2007 Emerging Tech award from the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal. Propel(R) PBM(TM), the first software to provide personal bandwidth management for individual PC users, was selected out of three finalists in the wireless and networking category.

Propel PBM, which the company unveiled in September at the DEMOfall conference in San Diego, is designed to optimize performance of applications that use the Internet by automatically prioritizing both inbound and outbound traffic on a user's PC. The software gives precedence in utilizing bandwidth to time-sensitive applications such as Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP), video calls and online gaming, while lower-priority applications such as file transfers run in the background. Propel PBM includes a traffic monitor that allows users to see applications and their use of bandwidth in real time.
