Hong Kong-based provider of mobile 3G technology and applications Artificial Life has revealed its plans to develop new games and applications for Google's free and open source mobile platform Android.
As per Artificial Life's anticipation, this emerging platform will soon attract handset manufacturers because of the lower costs for the operating system and expects Android to be successful especially in China due to its Linux base. The company sees the new mobile platform as a natural extension of its business strategy to reach as many mobile devices as possible.
With the recent release of the early access Android SDK by Google, Artificial Life is currently preparing its own cutting edge Smart Engine Mobile Platform technology to support Android applications. The company expects to release its first products for the Android platform in early 2008.
Eberhard Schoneburg, CEO of Artificial Life, said: "The emergence of mobile devices with a more open architecture and robust feature set makes our lives easier by giving us the freedom to create games with fewer limitations imposed by the specific devices while, at the same time, reducing production overhead. We will, therefore, support the Google open source initiative by providing new and innovative products."
