Sprint Launches Hawaiian Music for Full Song Downloads
Posted on: Tuesday, 27 November 2007, 15:00 CST
Sprint (NYSE:S) customers can now download full Hawaiian songs from the Mountain Apple catalogue -- which features traditional and contemporary Hawaiian music -- to their wireless devices. Featuring titles from the highly popular artist, Israel Kamakawiwo'ole and the Brothers Cazimero, customers can download songs right to their phone for $ 0.99 per song with any data plan.
The Sprint Music Store offers a growing selection of more than 2 million songs from virtually every genre. It allows song downloads via the computer in addition to over-the-air and launches with one click from the phone's main menu. Now, Sprint Music Store customers are offered Hawaiian music for full song downloads for the first time. Several popular albums from Iz are currently available, including: "Wonderful World,""Facing Future" and "Alone in Iz World". Also available are albums from the Brothers Cazimero -- "The Best of the Brothers Cazimero Vol. I and II" -- and HAPA -- "Collection."
"Sprint is committed to the Hawaii market and believes that a wide range of mobile music should be offered to all our customers. That's why we are offering Hawaiian music by some local favorites, such as Iz," said Dale Goya, general manager, Sprint Hawaii.
In October 2005, the Sprint Music Store became the first service in the U.S. to allow customers to browse, download and listen to full-length songs on their mobile phones. The songs are then transferred over the air typically within 30 seconds within the nationwide Sprint Power Vision network.
