Globecomm Systems Inc. (NASDAQ: GCOM-News), a global provider of end-to-end satellite-based communications solutions, today announced that it has been awarded multiple contracts from two United States Government prime contractors ("the two contractors") valued at approximately $4.2 million.
Pursuant to the contracts with the two contractors, Globecomm will provide a turnkey network solution for a United States Government agency, which includes $1.6 million in satellite hardware infrastructure and a related thirteen-month $2.6 million satellite services contract. Globecomm will design, install and maintain the satellite infrastructure requirements. Once the network is complete, the Company's wholly-owned subsidiary Globecomm Network Services Corporation, will provide network and bandwidth management services.
David Hershberg, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Globecomm Systems Inc., said, "Globecomm is emerging as the integrator of choice for an array of network requirements. Customers find compelling value in outsourcing their network to a single company who is able to take total end-to-end ownership of the communication solution. We continue to gain traction in the Government market as both a subcontractor to the major U.S. Government prime contractors and as a direct prime. We continue to invest in multiple emerging technologies that are the network components of choice for certain government agencies. Our approach to open standard network architecture allows the Company to stay on the cutting edge, while providing Globecomm's customers with customized solutions satisfying their network requirements."
