New Sprint Service and Repair Van to Make House Calls to Local Business Complexes in New Orleans and Baton Rouge
Posted on: Thursday, 29 November 2007, 12:00 CST
Sprint (NYSE:S) and Connectivity Source announced today they are teaming up to launch an innovative mobile program to give Sprint Nextel customers an easy and convenient way to receive service and repair on their wireless phones -- the Sprint Service and Repair Van. The yellow and black van will bring service and repair assistance directly to the customer by providing phone repair, answering technical questions, servicing accounts and offering options to purchase accessories and new handsets. Customers also will be able to move their existing phone books from their previous wireless phone to their new one.
Local business customers in New Orleans and Baton Rouge can request the Onsite Support Services by Connectivity Source simply by going to the web site at www.onsitesupportservices.com.
"Providing our customers with convenient and superior customer service is a priority for Sprint," said Jeff Bennett, area vice president for Sprint in the Southeast. "We are pleased to unveil the service and repair vehicle in New Orleans, and we plan to duplicate these efforts in additional markets in the Southeast."
The kick-off event for the service and repair van will be Tuesday, Dec. 4 from 2 -- 4 p.m. with the City of New Orleans. Quarterback Drew Brees will be on hand to help officially unveil the vehicle and to meet and greet fans. The event will take place behind City Hall on Poydras Street. City government customers and customers in the surrounding businesses are invited to visit the van and receive any assistance needed on their Sprint or Nextel wireless devices.
"The service and repair van is an innovative and convenient way to reach customers during their busy work days," said Scott Aronstein, president of Connectivity Source. "We are excited to be working with Sprint on this program and giving customers an easy way to obtain service, repairs, purchase new accessories or upgrade existing phones without having to leave their office complex."
Future expansion for the service and repair van will be into the Mississippi Gulf Coast markets. It also will make appearances at large events and festivals in the marketplace.
Nationally, Sprint recently announced a series of new programs to enhance the customer experience. Customers now have even more flexibility by being able to change their rate plans without having to renew their contracts. Sprint also offers a 30-day risk-free guarantee. Plus during 2008, Sprint plans to implement a new prorated early termination fee (ETF) policy. More specific launch information and details of that policy will be announced next year.
