Avvenu Showcases New ''Wherever, Whenever'' Mobile Content Access Service
Posted on: Tuesday, 4 January 2005, 15:00 CST
Avvenu, Inc. will be demonstrating a new service for mobile content viewing and sharing at the 2005 Consumer Electronics Show, starting today. Avvenu is a service that allows a user to remotely access their entire library of images from any internet-connected computer, PDA, or mobile phone.
The Avvenu service enables a user to view, download and share the images and files on their computer simply and securely from any web-enabled device. The files can be on a home computer, office computer, laptop, or media PC. "We've 'place shifted' the photos on your PC -- it's as if your PC is with you wherever you are," said Keith Barraclough, Avvenu Founder and CEO. "And, Avvenu securely links friends and family directly back to the original photos, wherever they are stored." The shared content is available instantly through the Avvenu service from any browser without the need for file downloads or software installations.
The Avvenu service is being showcased at CES booth #563 in the Innovations Plus Pavilion, and in the main convention center at Motorola Inc.'s (NYSE:MOT) booth CEN/8545. Motorola is demonstrating the Avvenu service on the new Motorola V635 phone, which incorporates a large viewing screen, fast web browsing, and a high-resolution digital camera.
The Avvenu service is based on the company's patent-pending technology in media routing and managed peer-to-peer content access and distribution. The service will be publicly available in Q1 of 2005.
