The New 7 Wonders of the World

After seven years and 100 million votes cast worldwide via phone, text messages and the Internet, the New 7 Wonders of the World were revealed on July 7, 07/07/07. Machu Picchu made the list, beating out other gems like Stonehenge, the Acropolis and Alhambra. Here are the other six New Wonders of the World:

_Taj Mahal, India

_Colosseum, Italy

_Christ the Redeemer statue, Brazil

_Petra, Jordan

_Chichen Itza, Mexico

_Great Wall of China

Honorary candidate: Pyramids of Giza, Egypt, the only one of the 7 Ancient Wonders of the World still standing.
