OpenPeak Thinking Homes Software Supports Zensys Z-Wave Devices; Thinking Homes Software Provides Seamless Control Across Wireless Mesh Networking and Other Wireless Protocols

OpenPeak Inc., a leading provider of software enabling control of digital content, consumer electronics and systems in the Digital Home, today announced the company's flagship Thinking Homes software supports the Zensys Z-Wave wireless control protocol used in devices from Sylvania, Leviton, Carrier and other major manufacturers.

Z-Wave is an RF-based, two-way mesh networking protocol for wireless control of home devices, such as lights, HVAC and security systems.

"By extending our interoperability to support devices using Z-Wave networking technology - while still supporting devices controlled through other networking protocols - we continue working toward our mission of making technology invisible and seamless to the consumer in the Digital Home," said Andrew Lona, OpenPeak's Chief Marketing Officer.

Thinking Homes software already enables control of consumer electronics and other home devices via IR, serial, WiFi and Ethernet networks. "Adding Z-Wave technology to the protocols we support makes OpenPeak-powered controllers even more essential for consumers building Digital Homes with various devices, technologies and protocols," Lona added.

Thinking Homes software, which is designed to be integrated into products by original equipment manufacturers (OEMs), offers simplicity of setup and control for consumers.
