Telecom New Zealand will use technology from Mformation® Technologies Inc., the market leader in mobile device management (MDM) software, to provide seamless device management capabilities to more than 1.7 million wireless customers.

Telecom will use the technology to remotely enable new mobile data services, and to provision, configure, diagnose and manage feature phones and smart devices through all phases of their life. This will ensure that Telecom’s customers can make the most of its innovative technologies, advanced networks and industry-leading mobile data services. Telecom’s enterprise customers will also benefit from a hosted mobile device management and security solution.

“We expect our mobile device management solution to play a pivotal role in helping us deliver a customer experience that is totally seamless and intuitive, driving up the adoption of new devices and advanced data services,” said Jason Foden, Head of Mobile Products for Telecom Consumer. “Telecom will use MFORMATION SERVICE MANAGER™ as the core technology platform for remotely managing business and consumer devices for all of our mobile subscribers. Working with Mformation will be critical to helping us meet our commitment to improved service levels for both business and consumer customers.”

Telecom selected Mformation to serve its customers because its integrated device management solution is the most comprehensive on the market and because of its proven ability to help mobile operators around the globe deliver innovative new data services. In addition, Telecom anticipates being better able to manage the end-user experience with the full device visibility, real-time control and complete security that Mformation’s solution provides. As the Telecom network expands and new value-added services are created, the Mformation solution ensures that the devices in the subscribers’ hands are always optimized and working. Mformation’s ability to manage devices across both CDMA- and GSM-based network technologies is unmatched in the marketplace. This was an important factor, given Telecom’s decision to invest in WCDMA-based network technology.

Mark Edwards, Mformation’s CEO comments, “We are pleased to be working with Telecom New Zealand to deliver an advanced device management solution that will be fully integrated throughout their mobile network. MFORMATION SERVICE MANAGER will help Telecom improve the customers’ experience, and accelerate the deployment of new mobile devices and data services.”
