HOUSTON, Jan. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- SnapStream Media, Inc., a leader in digital home entertainment products, announced today that its powerful personal video recording (PVR) software, Beyond TV version 3.5, has completed Intel* Networked Media Product Requirements (Intel* NMPR) validation.
SnapStream's Beyond TV has always enabled access over the network within the home, first through its innovative web interface and most recently through Beyond TV Link. Intel NMPR validation further builds on Beyond TV's power in the standards-based digital home. With this new capability, Beyond TV automatically works with Intel NMPR compatible digital media adapters. This greatly simplifies the user experience of recording shows with Beyond TV and accessing them from TVs around the house.
"SnapStream Media recognizes the need for an industry standard, such as Intel NMPR," said Rakesh Agrawal, President and CEO of SnapStream Media, Inc. "The company has always placed an emphasis on the consumer experience, believing that products should be as easy-to-use out of the box as possible. The Intel NMPR guidelines benefit both developers and consumers by allowing devices to easily communicate with one another. The NMPR standard is important in promoting the connected digital home."
"Intel NMPR development guidelines and tools for building digital home products define common usage models and an interoperability framework for delivering the best experience in connecting consumer electronics devices to Intel-based platforms," said Bill Leszinske, director of digital home marketing, Intel Corporation. "With Intel NMPR-compliant consumer electronics devices, consumers can seamlessly enjoy their digital content on any device around the home across PCs, various consumer electronic devices, and content applications and services."
